Synapse

It captures the moment when atoms with certain units connect with each other through the synapse, the junction of nerve cells. All phenomena in nature, including not only humans but also trees, soil and microorganisms, are made up of an assembly of tiny units, and this work expresses the “richness of smallness.”

神経細胞が接合部である『シナプス』を介して、ある単位を持った原子同士が繋がっていく瞬間を切り取ったものです。人間だけでなく、木々や土や微生物まで、自然界に存在する全ての事象は小さな単位の集合体で成り立っている、その“小ささの豊かさ”を表現しました。
